The word beside them says which problem it is. They are not the same and they have different fixes.
no chip
Nobody ever gave them a transponder. No mat can read somebody who is not carrying one, so this is a desk problem rather than a timing one.
Either assign them the chip they actually wore, or type their time in. See Typing a time in.
no finish
They were seen somewhere and never at the finish. They started. The finish mat did not read them, or they did not finish.
If several people are missing, stop and read this before typing anything. Several at once is the mat or its link, not the runners — and the box has probably still recorded them. Every box keeps its own log, so pull the reads back first (Getting back reads you missed), then check the mat (The box is connected but nothing is coming through). Typing a dozen times from a video and then recovering the real reads leaves you a dozen times to check.
For one or two people:
- Ask whether they finished. Half of these are genuine.
- If they did, the finish mat missed them. Type the time in: Typing a time in.
They finished but their time is before the gun
Podium ignores any read taken before the gun, because a finish mat parked near the start line reads everybody warming up. If their real crossing is being thrown away, the gun is set wrongly, not the read. Read Everybody's time is out by the same amount.
