Nothing is lost yet. The box holds every read it has ever taken in its own log. Anything that did not reach you is still on it and can be pulled off afterwards.
Deal with the link first and the missing reads second.
Get it back
- Wait. Both apps keep looking on their own, so a box that dropped is picked up again and reconnects without anybody pressing anything.
- If it does not come back, read A box will not connect.
- If the box stopped reading rather than the link dropping, start it again —

Then fill the gap
Once it is back, pull the reads it took while it was away. See Getting back reads you missed.
Do this before you publish anything. Reads recovered afterwards will change positions.
If it keeps dropping
Move the phone closer, or put the box on the network instead of the radio if there is a router on site. A box on the network is a far steadier link and it does not lose records.
Do not spend a race fighting it. Leave the box reading into its own log, time the race, and recover the whole thing at the end.
